A sculptural hand-built stoneware vase by ceramic artist Larry Halvorsen, signed and dated “Halvorsen 90.” The rounded form is finished in a soft white glaze with carved and sgraffito-etched decoration, including repeating oval motifs and layered horizontal lines around the neck.
Halvorsen studied ceramics at the University of Texas and earned his MFA from the University of Puget Sound under Carlton Ball. He later established several pottery studios in Washington State and became known for distinctive, highly textured stoneware.
