A finely executed Acoma polychrome storage jar in traditional olla form, dating to circa 1900 and created as a period reproduction in the classic Pueblo style. The rounded body and gently tapering neck reflect the elegant proportions long associated with Acoma pottery.
The surface is richly decorated with parrots perched among stylized foliage, encircled by striking two tone rainbow motifs. The balanced composition and rhythmic patterning exemplify the bold graphic sensibility for which Acoma artisans are celebrated.
Hand formed and hand painted, the jar displays the characteristic matte surface and mineral based pigments typical of Pueblo pottery traditions. The polychrome decoration contrasts beautifully against the light ground, creating a vibrant yet harmonious design.
A decorative and culturally inspired work that captures the spirit of Acoma ceramic artistry, ideal for collectors of Southwestern pottery and Native American decorative arts.
