Bring dramatic sculptural presence to a wall with this impressive antique-style sunburst mirror. Crafted in Italy circa 1980, the large round mirror features a richly carved giltwood frame embellished with bold scrolling motifs, from which radiate alternating hand-carved sun rays in varying lengths. The layered rays create exceptional depth and movement, while the warm gilt finish is enhanced by subtle red bole showing through in places, adding richness, character, and the appearance of age.
Measuring an impressive 55 inches wide, this striking wall mirror is substantial enough to serve as a focal point above a fireplace, console, buffet, or bed. Inspired by the celebrated Spanish and Italian sunburst mirrors of the Baroque period, it blends beautifully with traditional, Mediterranean, Hollywood Regency, and contemporary interiors alike.
