a signed Helene Fielder vintage 1980s post modern studio art pottery Raku vessel with Agate stone stopper
A striking example of contemporary Raku pottery, this artisan-crafted lidded small vessel showcases the depth and individuality inherent in this centuries-old ceramic tradition. The piece is rendered in a rich, green glaze, with subtle tonal variations characteristic of the Raku firing process.
It has a matte textured iridescent finish throughout and as you rotate the piece, as the light hits it, it changes colors from various greens, blue to maroon. The lid consists of a beautiful polished Agate stone and has various kinds and colors too.
Both sculptural and functional, this small vessel features a gently rounded body and cut out lid, making it suitable as a decorative vessel, centerpiece, or a unique storage accent. The piece is signed on the underside by the artist signature , affirming its handcrafted origin and collectible value.
A bold yet contemplative work of ceramic art that will enhance both modern and eclectic interiors.
in excellent mint condition, no flaws to mention.
Raku, a technique with origins in 16th-century Japan, was historically favored by Zen Buddhist tea masters for its organic beauty and spontaneity. The low-firing method embraces imperfection and naturalness—principles rooted in the philosophy of wabi-sabi—producing one-of-a-kind textures and unpredictable glaze effects, as beautifully demonstrated here.
