During the 1700s, when ours was hand-carved in Provence, France, it also served as a showcase of a household’s wealth and appreciation for the craftsmanship.

Designed to fit snugly into the intersection of two walls, the corner cabinet has a curved façade featuring two doors with musical trophy carvings. Each door has low-relief carvings of an array of musical accessories featuring music sheets, instruments, flowering vines, and gadrooned leaves. The rich brown patina of the wood accentuates the details of the carvings, which include motifs relating to nature, which is a hallmark of Provincial furniture. Behind the two doors, which open on large iron hinges, are two wedge-shaped shelves, with the bottom one being significantly larger.
