This daybed was designed by Dutch designer A.R. (Dick) Cordemeyer and manufactured by Kupers in Almelo, the Netherlands, during the 1950s. The clever construction is entirely screw-free: the spiral tube frame simply clamps into the legs. The tubular steel frame shows some honest wear consistent with its age but remains in good, sturdy condition. The mattress is upholstered in a royal blue velour fabric and is accompanied by a matching bolster roll. A rare and hard-to-find example of Dutch mid-century design. This piece is attributed to the mentioned designer/maker. It has no attribution mark and no
official proof of authenticity,
however it is well documented in design history. I take full responsibility for any authenticity
