Dating back to the early 1910s, this piece represents a milestone in early modern packaging design. Created before the full emergence of the movement, its strong geometric presence effectively anticipates the Art Deco aesthetic that would dominate the following decade.
This bottle was produced in Lalique's early glassworks—most likely at his initial facility in Combs-la-Ville, preceding the establishment of his larger manufacturing operations in Wingen-sur-Moder following his massive commercial success.
While the "Ambre D'Orsay" bottle was issued in three main variations, the vast majority were produced in black glass. This clear glass edition is considerably rarer. It features the desirable stopper decorated with a stylized floral motif—a refined alternative to the eagle-motif variation.
