A large, antique, French dough plough or "trencher" carved from an even older piece of wood. Originally used to mix bread dough, these vessels now make for gorgeous centerpieces to hold your hydrangeas or placed on a low shelf in the living room for blankets, or dog toys.
This a beautiful, natural, piece from the past and due to age and use, it developed a crack that was threatening a split. I added a mending plate to help it along. Maybe it will find a peaceful place to retire somewhere in your home?
