A Textured Ocean The artist has created a unique background for this piece. Using a texturing technique with light turquoise glaze, the surface resembles the shimmering waters of the sea. Upon this “water,” dark blue Galleons (Kalyonlar) sail with full sails, painted with swift, energetic brushstrokes that convey movement.

Symbols of Protection Floating alongside the ships are the iconic Evil Eye (Nazar) talismans. These stylized eyes are placed to offer protection against bad luck, making this vase not just a decorative object, but a symbol of safe passage and good fortune.
