This Handmade Ceramic Grand Jar represents the pinnacle of Ottoman geometric design. Named the “Şah” (Shah) jar for its ruling presence, it stands at 60 cm, transforming any corner into a palace like setting.

The Infinite Lattice Unlike the vertical panels of its sibling, this jar features a “Medallion” (Şemse) layout. Large, almond shaped medallions float on the surface, connected by intricate Rumi scrolls. This pattern has no beginning and no end, representing infinity. The precision required to map this geometric grid onto a curved spherical surface is a testament to the artist’s mastery.

A Study in Blue The contrast is striking. The medallions offer breathing room with their white backgrounds, while the connecting areas are dense with deep cobalt blue. This rhythmic exchange of light and dark makes the jar appear to vibrate with energy.
