An exquisite antique Italian Classical alabaster bust, en verso signed by P. Bazzanti and dating to approximately 1890. This finely carved sculpture depicts a serene maiden with a gentle smile and downcast eyes, her hair styled in flowing curls and adorned with a decorative element. Her décolletage is embellished with intricately rendered flowers and a fan-like motif. The bust rests on a classical-style pedestal base, showcasing the delicate craftsmanship characteristic of late 19th-century Italian sculpture. Crafted from lustrous alabaster, the material's natural translucence enhances the soft contours and details of the figure. The signature is located at the back of the neck (we were unable to capture it in photos).
