This illuminated world globe is a faithful depiction of the Earth, with axial tilt and precise map of the globe. Frame and base are covered with silver lacquer. The globe is both a lamp and an education item. Inside the globe there is a lightbulb which lights it up, and a special screen under the surface shows current light zones on Earth, depending on the month and year season. In the base of the globe there is a small mechanism embedded, which allows switching moon phases.
This item is marked at the bottom: Columbus Erdglobus, Duplex, Politisch und physikalisch; Columbus Verlag Paul Oestergaard K.G., Berlin und Stuttgart. The Columbus company was established by the Oestergaard brothers in 1909 and for many years it remained the world’s leading globe producer. Imprinted by Maker,This piece has an attribution mark,
