The piece features a thick, dual-plank solid wood tabletop showing intense, deeply scored surface character, historic ring marks, and a rich, unpolished matte patina favored by rustic design collectors. The understructure is anchored by classic Baroque lyre-form trestle supports with hand-carved scalloped detailing. The base elements are securely stabilized by an elegant pair of hand-forged wrought iron tension stretchers featuring decorative central baluster turns and traditional hook-and-eye attachments. Perfectly proportioned at just over 6.5 feet long, this versatile table functions beautifully as a rustic kitchen island, a unique writing desk, or an unforgettable statement dining table. See less

The table is entirely structurally sound, stable, and completely fit for daily residential or commercial use. Tabletop Surface: The thick two-plank matching solid wood top remains flat and structurally integral. The underside features a traditional cleated construction secured via original hand-forged, heavily oxidized iron mounting straps. The surface exhibits extensive, honest wear consistent with continuous historical utility, including superficial ring markings, knife scoring, and intense historic scratching. Maintenance & Cleaning: The table is currently in its found, unpolished state. A light cleaning and wax treatment will easily clear up the modern superficial marks and brighten the finish while fully maintaining its irreplaceable historical character wear. Base & Hardware: The hand-carved lyre trestle legs and hand-forged wrought iron stretchers are solid and rigid. Consistent with its 150+ years of age, the trestle feet show localized, authentic historic wood loss, cosmetic chipping, and old, completely inactive insect emergence holes (woodworm). less
