A beautiful antique Victorian glove box dating to approximately 1880–1910, likely made in England or the United States, where velvet-covered dressing table accessories were fashionable. Originally used to store ladies' kid gloves, this example features rich red velvet form, a gathered red silk-lined lid with pocket, and its original decorative clasp and hinges. A particularly charming feature is the visible impression of the word "Glove" still embossed in the velvet on the lid, preserving a piece of its original history. Today it makes a wonderful jewelry casket, keepsake box, or display piece for Victorian, Dark Academia, English Country, Romantic, or Grandmillennial décor.
