A Mid 20th Century custom commissioned Italian Directoire style console table featuring well defined Neoclassical lines in the straight geometric forms, tapered legs, and minimal ornamentation. Two substantial polished Rosso Verona insert marble slabs with striking brass lions head pulls to the four dovetail drawers, showcase distinct French symmetry, style and superb Italian craftsmanship.
Vintage Rosa Verona marble (also called Rosso Verona) is a classic, ancient limestone-marble from the Veneto region of Italy. It is prized for its warm, terracotta-red and rosy-pink tones accented by cream and rust patterns; often referred to as specimen marble. It is historically used in grand architecture and antique Italian furniture.
Single family owned for generations, this marvelously transitional table has been beautifully maintained and is in excellent vintage condition.
