A striking and grand-scale mid-century Italian neoclassical chalkware/plaster bust depicting the Apollo Belvedere, manufactured and labeled by the renowned design house Basco under their "Attila's Antiquity Italian Reproductions of Art" line.
Dating to the mid-20th century, this theatrical sculpture captures the Greek god of truth, archery, and the arts in his classic, idealized form. The heavy casting features magnificent, crisp architectural contours, detailed curls, and Apollo’s signature top-knot bow (krobylos). The piece has been beautifully hand-finished with a rich, multi-toned faux-bronze and gilded patina that mimics an excavated ancient artifact, giving it immense presence and depth.
Boasting an impressive 24-inch height, this substantial piece serves as the ultimate anchor for Hollywood Regency, Neoclassical, Grand Tour, or eclectic interior vignettes. It retains its rare, original factory paper label on the interior.
