An exceptional, highly atmospheric original limited-edition woodblock print (mokuhanga) by the celebrated modern Japanese landscape master Shūhū Miyamoto (b. 1950). This serene, beautifully colored 1985 piece is titled Takayama Sekkei (高山雪景 / Takayama Snowscape) and captures a traditional Gassho-zukuri thatched-roof farmhouse nestled in a heavy winter alpine valley.
• Limited Edition & Artist Markings: Hand-numbered 129/180, hand-titled, and hand-signed/dated in pencil along the bottom margin by the artist (Shūhū '85). Completed with his official red artist seal stamp.
• Impeccable Provenance: Purchased directly from the legendary Kanda's Gallery B・O・G in Tokyo, Japan. Includes the original gallery artist biography certificate insert and the original custom-stamped gallery shipping box.
• Aesthetic Appeal: Masterful, delicate ink gradients characteristic of Miyamoto's signature atmospheric style. Soft violet, gray, and indigo hues contrast gorgeously with the heavy white snow fields. Housed in a dark minimalist wood gallery frame under a double mat.
• Condition Note: Excellent vintage color saturation. In accordance with age and the natural property of handmade washi paper, there is a visible wave/buckling to the paper substrate where it has naturally expanded over time, causing a surface ripple and minor pigment transfer smudging in one quadrant (see detailed macro photos). Disclosed to ensure accuracy.
• Dimensions: 16" W x 21" H x 1" D
A museum-documented mid-century modern masterpiece that makes a brilliant addition to any high-end Japandi, Scandinavian, or Mid-Century Modern interior layout
