This is a fantastic original artist's proof etching by listed Belgian-American artist Annette Robyns (1926-2008). Robyns studied painting in Paris under the renowned Modernist Fernand Léger before moving to Los Angeles, where she became an accomplished artist, printmaker, gallery owner, and instructor. Her work is known for its distinctive blend of Modernist abstraction and organic imagery.
Titled "Processes," this striking composition explores biomorphic forms through intricate line work and richly worked tonal passages. The image has a sculptural quality created by the deep plate impression and subtle plate tone, highlighting the craftsmanship of the original printing process. Printed on heavy laid paper, this is an original etching—not a reproduction.
This impression is designated Artist's Proof #2 and is pencil titled, signed, and inscribed by the artist in the lower margin.
