A set of 8 aperitif or sherry glasses made from glass containing uranium oxide—which produces that characteristic fluorescent green glow under UV light—likely made by Val Saint Lambert (or entirely in that style) during the first half of the 20th century.
Uranium glass was particularly popular in the late 19th and early 20th centuries; these items are highly collectible, and although the uranium in the glass is radioactive, the pieces are perfectly safe for daily use.
The set is in excellent vintage condition, with only very minor signs of use on the base of one glass and a few small air bubbles resulting from the manufacturing process; please check the photos for details.
Dimensions: 6.5 cm diameter, 11 cm height.
Weight: approximately 0.8 kg combined.
