Carved from a substantial block of solid wood hollowed with an adze, it stands on three tapered legs driven directly into the seat using traditional friction-fit construction.

The monoxyl seat is carefully hollowed to follow the shape of the body, reflecting the honesty and ingenuity of rural craftsmanship. Every tool mark and irregularity bears witness to its entirely handmade production.

Traditionally used for milking sheep and goats on the farms of the Cévennes, the tripod construction provided excellent stability on uneven terrain. Its compact proportions, restrained construction, and rich time-worn patina make it a remarkable example of the vernacular furniture of southern France's mountain regions.

Today, beyond its original function, it stands as a sculptural object that perfectly embodies the primitive beauty of rural craftsmanship.
