This exquisite 'tête de femme' powder box was designed by rené lalique for the pioneering perfumer françois coty. Produced in lalique’s early glassworks—most likely in combs-la-ville, prior to the expansion into his larger-scale manufacture in wingen-sur-moder—this piece represents a milestone in design history.
as one of lalique’s earliest commissions for the perfume industry and a testament to his close friendship with françois coty, this box is a magnificent and rare example of early 20th-century luxury packaging design.
the box features the molded signature "r. Lalique".
this design is fully documented and can be found in the definitive catalogue raisonné.:
cf. Félix marcilhac, « rené lalique 1860-1945: catalogue raisonné de l'œuvre de verre », les éditions de l'amateur, 4th edition, ref. Coty-4, p. 968. This piece has an attribution mark,
