a splendid double-spouted vase, entirely wheel-shaped and hand-decorated, characterized by the use of different glazes: feldspar-rich glazes that have allowed for a brilliant vitrification near the two spouts, where the glaze gently drips downward, evoking the asymmetrical and sinuous flow of erupting volcanic lava. The rest of the vase's surface is finished with a corroded glaze (also known as volcanic glaze). This particular technique gives the surface a rough, spongy, and highly textured texture that recalls the natural charm of marine rock and coral, here enhanced with shades of blue. The vase is signed under the base "g e c italy amalfi" and dates back to between 1950 and 1970.

g.e.c. Was founded in the second half of the twentieth century (particularly active between the 1950s and the early 1970s) as a cooperative or artisan consortium in the amalfi and vietri sul mare area. The name itself ("gestione esercizio") harks back to a typical postwar corporate structure, created to provide employment continuity for local master ceramists. G.e.c. It stood out in the campania ceramics scene for its adoption of the corroded or volcanic glaze style. This technique involves the application of thick, oxide-rich, and intentionally imperfect glazes. During firing, the glaze bubbles and shrinks, creating a rough, spongy, and highly textured surface reminiscent of marine rock or coral.
