A striking Czech art glass vase designed by František Vízner for Škrdlovice Glassworks in 1971. Model 7117/20, often known as “Ananas” and sometimes referred to by collectors as the “Toffee” vase, is one of Vízner’s most recognisable designs from the golden era of postwar Bohemian glass.

The vase features a heavily textured surface formed by rounded geometric protrusions, creating a strong optical effect as light moves across the glass. Its warm amber-brown core is encased with vivid translucent green, producing remarkable depth and luminosity. Depending on the light, the piece shifts from smoky caramel tones to a glowing green brilliance.

František Vízner was one of the most important Czech glass artists of the twentieth century. Škrdlovice Glassworks played a central role in postwar Czech art glass, producing bold hand-blown designs by many of the country’s leading glass artists.
