A striking and rare set of six modernist punch, mulled wine, or mocha cups from the Czechoslovakian Art Deco period, … Read more A striking and rare set of six modernist punch, mulled wine, or mocha cups from the Czechoslovakian Art Deco period, circa 1930s.These cups feature an exquisite, highly geometric faceted body, deeply rooted in Central European Functionalism and Avant-Garde design (strongly reminiscent of the iconic works of Ladislav Sutnar for Krásná Jizba, or Sandrik, or Bratři Schusterové Manufactorys. Crafted from silver-plated metal, the interiors boast their original, rich gold wash (vermeil) to protect the metal from hot or acidic beverages. Each cup is fitted with a stunning, contrasting half-moon handle made of authentic black Bakelite. The bases bear a subtle circular technical hallmark typical of high-quality export tableware of the era.The pieces have been left in their original vintage condition, featuring a gorgeous, authentic iridescent rainbow patina that highlights their age and provenance. The silvering and internal gilding remain beautifully intact. See less
