Conceived in 1956 as part of a system allowing one, two, or three elements, the composition demonstrates Sarfatti’s ability to transform industrial logic into refined spatial presence.

Each slender chromed stem rises from an organically profiled base, engineered to permit sequential electrical connection between elements. The polished aluminum reflectors, reduced to their essential geometry, direct light upward with controlled intensity, emphasizing vertical rhythm and architectural clarity. The staggered heights — 207, 198, and 183 cm — introduce a calibrated dynamism while preserving formal restraint, a defining characteristic of Sarfatti’s mid-century production.

The 1073 series is widely regarded as one of the most representative expressions of Arteluce’s experimental phase, when Italian lighting achieved international relevance through innovation in materials, modularity, and structural precision.
