A striking hand-thrown Brazilian studio pottery vase featuring an expressive hand-painted blue and black striped decoration over a warm terracotta clay body. The sculptural bottle form is finished with an unglazed flared neck, creating a beautiful contrast between the natural clay and bold painted surface.
Signed and dated “2001” on the underside by the artist. While the maker’s initials are present, they are difficult to interpret and are left unattributed. A wonderful example of contemporary Brazilian studio ceramics that works equally well in modern, postmodern, organic modern, or eclectic interiors.
Very good vintage condition with light age-appropriate wear.
