A forest green enameled bread box from the Art Nouveau period. The lid is decorated with two enameled silver stripes around its circumference, and the interior is enameled beige. Typical of the period, the bread box has a locking mechanism on the front.
A metal rim is attached to the inner edge of the lower half.
The fittings are nickel-plated, including the two rear hinges, the top handle, and the locking mechanism.
The bread box has been disassembled, cleaned, and the fittings polished.
The base of the bread box has integrated ridges, and ventilation holes are located on the back to allow the bread to breathe and stay fresh longer.
