The Kusu inhabit areas of central Congo and share long-standing artistic and cultural exchanges with neighboring groups, particularly the Songye and Hemba, whose stylistic influences are evident in this sculpture.
The figure features an elongated torso, gently bent arms, and a composed, introspective posture.
