The composition is dominated by the figure of the Virgin holding the Baby Jesus, who holds an apple in his hands, symbolizing the "new Adam," the one who will redeem humanity from original sin. Two angels hover above the Madonna, holding a crown symbolizing her royalty and role in the plan of salvation. Despite previous restoration, the panel shows some visible paint loss, while the wooden structure has been reinforced on the back to ensure stability.
