Raymond's monumental publication L'Art Islamique en Orient – IIe Partie, illustrating two of the most celebrated monuments of early Ottoman architecture in northwestern Anatolia. This finely executed composition presents: • Façade de Yéchil Djami à Isnik (1374–1378) – the Green Mosque of İznik (Nicaea) • Façade de la Mosquée Mouradié à Brousse (1447) – the Muradiye Mosque in Bursa Rendered in delicate blue-grey and muted terracotta tones, the plate combines archaeological precision with the elegance of early twentieth-century architectural illustration. The domed silhouettes, striped masonry, pointed arches, and refined ornamental details capture the formative language of Ottoman religious architecture during the fourteenth and fifteenth centuries. Alexandre Marcel Raymond devoted decades to documenting the artistic and architectural heritage of Anatolia and the former Ottoman Empire.
