Crafted in Épinay-sur-Seine, France, circa 1925, the piece features a vibrant powder-mottled glass body with a rich overlay, acid-etched to reveal beautifully stylized geometric poppies.
While the silhouette closely resembles an elegant coupe, the vessel features a clever, deep construction where the opening extends down through the stem and into the base—allowing it to function beautifully as a small flower vase or a standalone sculptural statement. The piece is signed with the engraved artist's signature along the side of the foot.
This piece boasts distinguished provenance, coming from the former private collection of Christiane Waldrich, a pioneering dealer and scholar who authored one of the very first definitive books on Charles Schneider’s glasswork in 1987.
