The iconic murrine for this celebrated series were originally designed by Ermanno Toso, Renato Toso, and Poli Peralda prior to 1964. A testament to the enduring appeal of the design, the "Kiku" series remained a successful staple of the furnace's production for about two decades.
This specific piece is a magnificent showcase of the Toso brothers’ finest craftsmanship: A complex composition of beautiful murrine is meticulously fused, rolled up, and hand-blown into its final, elegant form. The masterful interplay between the transparency and opacity of the murrine compositions creates a captivating visual depth, allowing light to play enchanting tricks on the viewer's eye.
