Buddha is seated in the full lotus position (padmasana) atop a beautifully rendered, double-lotus pedestal base (padmapitha). His right hand is extended downward over the knee in the earth-touching gesture (bhumisparsha mudra), symbolizing the moment of his enlightenment and connection to people. His left hand rests gently in his lap in the gesture of meditation (dhyana mudra). The figure exhibits superb sculptural details, from the traditional tightly curled ushnisha (the cranial bump signifying spiritual wisdom), to the elongated earlobes indicative of his former royal status. The bronze boasts a remarkably rich patina. Deep, dark bronze tones are enhanced by areas of natural, encrusted verdigris and oxidized, earthy highlights—particularly nestled within the recesses of the lotus base and the folds of the drapery—underscoring its historic character.
