An elegant pair of porcelain vases by Hutschenreuther Selb, bringing together two distinct approaches to postwar German design. Created by Hans Theo Baumann and Cuno Fischer, the duo juxtaposes restrained graphic minimalism with richly ornamental decoration, illustrating the remarkable diversity of Hutschenreuther's artistic porcelain during the 1960s and 1970s.

Although conceived independently, the two vases complement one another beautifully. Baumann's slender cylindrical form is defined by delicate black linear motifs that emphasise proportion and rhythm, while Fischer's slightly broader vase features an intricate gold composition centred around a stylised figurative motif. Together they create a balanced dialogue between graphic precision and decorative expression.
