Rare original advertising illustration from a Berliet catalog printed by the prestigious Draeger printing house in 1907.
This illustration depicts an elegant Berliet automobile in a setting reminiscent of Chicago, as indicated by the inscription on the image. It is part of a series created to promote Berliet automobiles in various major cities and countries around the world. We also offer five other illustrations from this same series, each representing a different destination, forming a remarkable decorative and historical collection.
The illustration was drawn by René Vincent (1879-1936), one of the greatest French illustrators of the early 20th century, famous for his automobile posters and his collaborations with leading manufacturers. His elegant and dynamic style greatly contributed to the image of the French luxury automobile.
Founded in Lyon in 1901 by Marius Berliet, Berliet quickly established itself as one of France's leading manufacturers of prestigious automobiles before becoming a global benchmark in the field of commercial vehicles.
Printed by the renowned Imprimerie Draeger, celebrated for the exceptional quality of its work, this illustration is a valuable record of the early days of the French automobile industry and the golden age of advertising illustration.
It is presented in a wooden frame under glass. The frame has a few minor chips and signs of wear, visible in the photographs, but these do not detract from the quality of the illustration.
