This authentic pair of stackable letter/memo trays is from the Orchestra® collection by KnollExtra®. Designed in 1990 by the acclaimed industrial design duo Bruce Hannah and Ayse Birsel, the Orchestra line brought a architectural, systemic approach to desktop organization. Pieces from this collection are held in the permanent collection of the Cooper Hewitt, Smithsonian Design Museum.
Molded from heavy-duty polystyrene, these trays feature a translucent vibrant orange finish. The surfaces are detailed with the collection's signature micro-pinstriped linear texture, which provides a clean matte feel and minimizes the appearance of minor wear. Engineered to stack securely via molded interlocking lips, they can be nested together or used individually to organize mail, file folders, or documents. Both trays retain their original embossed "KnollExtra® Orchestra®" clear labels on the underside.
Condition
Good vintage condition with light, age-appropriate surface wear and minor scuffing consistent with office use. Free of chips, cracks, or structural compromises. The translucent orange color remains bright and true.
