A gouache painting by the American artist Walter Stomps, Jr. (1929-2020). This work depicts an abstract pattern with a blue-green background and with yellow and red paisley designs. Unsigned, the painting is displayed in a gold tone frame and a cream mat.
Walter Stomps, Jr. was a modernist artist who explored the connectivity through music and art in his work. He rejected the rigid nature of realism, instead using color, shape, and rhythmic brushstrokes to create abstraction.
