Beautiful glazed terracotta water jug ​​in a globular shape, resting on a flared foot. It has a wide top handle and two side spouts, one for filling and the other for pouring water.

The entire piece is decorated with a relief of fleur-de-lis and plant motifs distributed across the body, highlighted by a cream glaze that contrasts with a beautiful honey glaze with fine crackling from age. This decoration gives the piece a character that is both rustic and elegant.

Water jugs were traditionally used in the south of France to keep water cool thanks to the natural porosity of terracotta. This piece is also a beautiful decorative object evoking regional folk art.

Good overall condition with a lovely patina from use. Note a few small chips in the glaze on the base and some slight signs of age, which do not detract from its appearance (see photographs).

An authentic piece that will find its place naturally in a collection of antique ceramics or in the decor of a country house.
