This sophisticated piece of historic stemware features a striking, optically mold-blown bowl in vibrant red and clear glass. The bowl is seamlessly fused to a vibrant uranium-glass stem and a hand-tooled base. The piece is authentic and signed with an engraved signature under the foot.
This specific design holds a prominent place in the history of decorative arts: it was exhibited at the seminal 1903 l'École de Nancy Exposition at the Pavillon de Marsan in the Palais du Louvre, an landmark exhibition organized by l'Union centrale des arts décoratifs.
While Gallé’s stemware from this series occasionally appears on the market, they are almost exclusively found in green glass. A small number of white and blue variants have surfaced over the decades. However, a red example is of the utmost rarity—this is only the second red specimen we have witnessed to appear on the market in the last 30 years, making it an extraordinary acquisition opportunity for discerning connoisseurs of glass and Art Nouveau.
