A tall, tapered rectangular mirror with softly rounded corners, held by two slim brass clips at top and bottom. The bevel runs clean and even along all sides, catching light in a narrow band around the glass. This example is new old stock: manufactured in the 1950s but never installed or used with its original packaging.
Frameless, minimally mounted mirrors of this kind were a staple of Austrian and German interiors through the 1950s, valued for their simplicity against heavier framed mirrors of the preceding decades. Surviving examples in genuinely unused condition are uncommon, most were hung and used for decades before reaching the market. At 98 cm tall, this holds its own as a statement piece in a hallway, over a console, or above a fireplace. A lovely, minimalist piece with an understated modernist aesthetic throughout.
