The new linen shade diffuses a medium-base lightbulb with the switch on the socket mounted in the ornate capital of acanthus motifs and volutes at the corners. The creamy white stone shows orange veining that wraps around the shaft as it widens toward the brass collar of egg & dart motif, mounted on a short pedestal of fluted cylinder resting on a stacked, square foot. A statement piece for any collector to illuminate a desk or side table, symbolising worldly taste for history and objects of curiosity. Professionally cleaned and rewired for US electrical using UL-listed components, adding a braided electrical cord. We believe this to be in good antique condition considering its age, and any visible signs of wear are captured in the photos.
