This floor lamp is a unique example of Czechoslovak Rondocubism, a specifically national style that, during the 1920s, expanded Cubist principles with softer, rounded, and circular forms. The piece stands out for its architectural construction, where a massive solid oak body alternates geometric cutouts with natural cork inlays. This unconventional material combination creates a strong visual contrast and gives the lamp an unmistakable character, balancing on the edge between applied art and sculptural object.
As part of the professional restoration, the original wood polish was sensitively revived to highlight the deep color of the oak and the raw texture of the cork details. The lamp is fitted with a new, tastefully chosen textile shade in a natural hue, finished with a decorative braid at the top. The shape of the shade harmoniously complements the robust base and ensures a soft, warm diffusion of light, emphasizing the monumental presence of the entire piece within an interior.
The item has undergone a complete technical overhaul, including new wiring that meets current safety standards. The fixture is equipped with a standard bulb socket, allowing for the seamless use of modern or energy-efficient light sources. Due to its rare Rondocubist formal language and superb post-restoration condition, this lamp represents an extraordinary collectors piece and a dominant element for sophisticated interiors.
This item features classic Art Deco elements. Art Deco is a style that originated in France in the early 20th century. Its furniture designs are meticulously crafted, usually using exotic woods. Pieces are typically lacquered to give off a dazzling gloss. These eloquently crafted pieces will add visual performance and posh to any interior.
