Published in 1924 in Alexandre M. Raymond's landmark folio *L'Art Islamique en Orient – IIe Partie*, the print documents an architectural detail dating to approximately 1420, during the formative years of the Ottoman Empire. The composition presents a complete window design framed within a pointed arch, richly embellished with floral arabesques and finely modeled ornament. The upper spandrel is filled with elegant scrolling foliage arranged in a symmetrical composition that demonstrates the remarkable sophistication of early Ottoman decorative arts. Below, the window itself is enclosed by an intricate lattice and architectural molding, creating a harmonious balance between ornament and structure. The Yeşil Camii was commissioned by Sultan Mehmed I shortly after the Ottoman Interregnum and remains one of the most important surviving monuments of Bursa, the empire's first great capital. The mosque is renowned for its architectural refinement, decorative carving, and exquisite tilework. Raymond's publication preserved many of these details through carefully executed chromolithographs, making each plate an important visual record of Ottoman artistic heritage. The restrained palette of pale celadon, soft turquoise, grey-green, and ivory gives the print a remarkably contemporary appearance despite its historical origins. Its elegant geometry and decorative floral motifs make it equally appealing as a work of art and as a document of architectural history. Collectors of Islamic art, Ottoman architecture, Turkish decorative arts, architectural ornament, and historic prints will appreciate both its aesthetic quality and cultural significance. This is an original 1924 chromolithograph, not a reproduction. We sell the print unframed. Any framed images are shown for presentation and interior inspiration only. Condition: Good antique condition with age-related toning, occasional light foxing, and minor handling wear consistent with age. The image remains attractive and well preserved. Please study the images carefully. Framing tips: This print works particularly well in a dark walnut, ebonized, or lightly gilded frame with an ivory museum mat. The subtle green-grey tones complement both modern interiors and Ottoman, Mediterranean, or Islamic-inspired settings. Technique: Chromolithograph Maker: Alexandre M.
