Augustin Calmels & Muller frères
A wonderful French 1925-1935 art deco lamp in wrought iron. It is made by Augustin Louis Calmels (1880-1971). A craftsman who worked as blacksmith and producer of stained glass in the city of Carmaux in the southwest of France. Calmels had a small workshop and his art deco lamps are a rare find. The forged base holds a large shade by Muller frères the famous glass factory in Luneville near Nancy France.
The lamp has a height of 16,7 inches (42,5 cm). The shade has a diameter of 9,53 inches (24,2 cm) and is signed Muller frères Luneville. The base is signed AL Calmels deposé. The lamp is in very good condition. It is rewired with new cloth covered twisted cord. An American candelabra base socket and US 2-prong plug.
