An original 1960s five-light chandelier by Robert Long Lighting of Sausalito, California. Founded in 1962, Robert Long became known for producing handcrafted architectural lighting using solid brass and hand-blown glass, with fixtures frequently specified for architect-designed California homes and boutique commercial interiors during the mid-century modern era.
This chandelier exemplifies the restrained elegance of California Modern design, featuring five satin brass cylindrical shades surrounding a central stem, each capped with its original hand-blown clear glass globe. An original three-way switching system allows the uplights, downlights, or both to be illuminated independently, creating multiple lighting moods.
Based on the original Sausalito label, construction, and period-correct components, this example dates to the company's early production during the 1960s.
The chandelier retains its original patina and presents beautifully. All five glass globes are original and in excellent vintage condition with no notable chips or cracks. Fully functional and ready for installation.
An increasingly scarce example from one of Northern California's most respected architectural lighting manufacturers.
