The top planks exhibit amazing textures by the repetition of saw blades and hand tools necessary to the carpenter’s craft, which includes one removable “dog” on the left side and a hole to the right where the holdfast iron rod would have been inserted. Four roughly hewn legs mounted by forged iron brackets support the top and a trough-like lower shelf–a potentially useful feature should one want to repurpose this piece as a console table for an entryway. It appears a vise grip would have been installed on the front left leg that has since been removed. The awe-inspiring workbench appeals to a wide range of design tastes, from brutalism to industrial to primitive for its charming imperfections. Cleaned and polished with a French paste wax, ready for your interior. We believe this to be in good antique condition considering its age, and any visible signs of wear are captured in the photos.
