The portrait … Read more This oil on canvas is titled “Himba Woman” and is by Cape Town, South African artist Gavin Collins. The portrait has a beautiful gilt frame. On the back of the frame is a few pages of biographical information about the artist and a receipt from a gallery in Cape Town, dating the sale to October of 2004, the same year the painting was created. The oil on canvas itself is 28 inches by 36 inches and the overall frame dimensions are 32 inches in width, 1.25 inches in depth and 40 inches in height. The oil on canvas shows a thin line at the top and bottom where the canvas is in contact with the framework along the back. Additionally, there is a small nick in the lower right corner of the frame; see photographs. Please see all photographs for an overall representation of condition. See less
