An iconic 1920s French Art Deco pendant light by Charles Schneider in the highly sought-after 'Étoiles' (Stars) pattern designed between 1918 and 1921.. This rare fixture showcases a striking geometric, modernist design with stylized cameo glass stars, complete with its original forged wrought iron mount.
The bowl is unsigned. Schneider made vases chandeliers table and night lamps with this pattern. I show a picture from the standard book Charles Schneider, le Verre Français - Charder - Schneider by Joulin and Maier page 92.
The beautiful shade is held by the original Schneider fixture in wrought iron. Schneider employed a blacksmith and had his own forge on his compound in Epinay France. Where wrought iron mounts for vases were made as well as fixtures for night lamps perfume burners and chandeliers. The typical shape of the Schneider forged iron pieces is easy to recognize.
The pendant light has a total height of 35 inches (89 cm) and the glass bowl has a diameter of 15,6 inches (39,7 cm). Contact me if you want the chandelier to have another height. The pendant light is in very good condition. The shade is without damages and the iron mount has a nice deep brown almost black patina. Near the bottom the shade shows a small spot with a web of superficial tiny cracks that occurred during production (see pictures). The lamp is rewired with an American standard socket.
