LOYS LUCHA
A beautiful French 1930 art deco chandelier in nickel plated solid brass or bronze holding a bowl by Loys Lucha. Being the glass manufactory of Louis Joseph Chaffard-Luçon (1880-1951). Based in Paris Boulogne-sur-Seine this company was specialized in cloisonné enameled shades in art deco style. In French art deco lighting we can only find a similar high quality enameled glass by Maxonade Aurys and the Daum related company Leune in Nancy. Around 1930 Chaffard moved to 31 rue Fernand Pelloutier in Boulogne-billancourt. The shade of this chandelier is done in cloisonné enamel in the center and an acid engraved border. The enamel is placed on the outside of the shade.
The bowl is signed Loys Lucha. The fixture has a total height of 16,65 inches (42,3 cm) and a diameter of 14 inches (35,5 cm). It's in very good condition. I have re-nickeled and patinated the mount. It comes newly wired. The chandelier holds a US standard base socket.
