They're linked to my growing up in a home where my mum was always hunting out antiques and selling onto dealers. Then she became interested in Welsh quilts and would buy them, along with linens and Welsh tapestry blankets, she'd take them up to Alfie's market and Judy Greenwood in the Kings Road. At a later date my appreciation for Welsh quilts grew through time spent with a respected collector in Llanybydder, she would tell me the beautiful stories connected to these restored blankets and they would then travel far beyond Wales, even reaching homes across America.
The people in the beds are people who have had an affect on me , people I have admired in varying ways - they have spoken their truths, and created legacies worthy of remembering.
